ReCarbon presented at US DoE Hydrogen Shot Summit with Bill Gates, John Kerry
Prof. Mark Cappelli, Chairman of ReCarbon’s Technology Advisory Board, presented at the groundbreaking Hydrogen Shot Summit hosted by the US Department of Energy (DoE), headed by Secretary Jennifer Granholm and Deputy Secretary Dave Turk. Plenary speakers included Bill Gates representing Breakthrough Energy and John Kerry, US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.
$9.5 billion is being committed by the US Government towards the cost-effectiveness of the US hydrogen ecosystem, and Breakthrough Energy plans to co-invest $1.5 billion in three years, in advancing key aspects of the DoE’s ambitious target of 1-1-1: $1 per 1 kilogram in 1 decade for the price/kg of clean hydrogen by 2030.
Prof. Cappelli spoke of the advantages of Thermal Plasma Conversion, as compared to other Thermochemical Conversion processes for hydrogen production, and highlighted ReCarbon for its advancement in this area. ReCarbon is honored to contribute and be recognized alongside some of the most significant US stakeholders in the hydrogen industry, such as Plug Power, Cummins, American Air Liquide, Air Products, and Bloom Energy. As an American company, we at ReCarbon are committed to collaborate with our federal government and with our fellow US industry stakeholders, and dedicated to playing our part in realizing 1-1-1 and bringing about positive climate action.
Prof. Cappelli disclosed that ReCarbon’s hydrogen production price is already “slightly above $1 per kg”, and highlighted ReCarbon’s optimization in progress as part of ReCarbon’s goal to meet the DoE’s target through the use of ReCarbon’s disruptive patented microwave plasma conversion technology.
